MOUNTAIN BIKE DAY 2003
At
Houghton’s Pond, over four hundred bicyclists of all ages enjoyed
the 2003 Mountain Bike Day with guided trail rides, repair clinics, dealer
displays, and our famous Bike Limbo contest. Bike Express of Randolph
donated a new Iron Horse bicycle to the event. Maureen Ellis of Milton
won the bike along with a ton of accessories donated by Dave’s Bike
Infirmary of Milton. All of our sponsors donated lots of bike swag for
the free afternoon raffle.
Mountain
Bike Day is sponsored each year by a partnership of the Department of
Conservation and Recreation, Blue Hills TrailWatch, and the New England
Mountain Bike Association. Through their support, many local businesses
help to guarantee the success of this event and the ongoing efforts to
promote safe bicycle use in the Blue Hills.
